About Us

Ms. Babers was born and raised here in Polk County.  After graduating from Haines City High School, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and her Juris Doctor (law degree) from Florida State University.  After passing the Florida Bar exam on her very first attempt, she was sworn in as an attorney in April 2006 and went to work for the Office of the Public Defender for the Tenth Judicial Circuit where she’d completed an internship the previous summer.  After leaving the Public Defender’s Office, she opened her own firm but decided to continue to work elsewhere as well in order to gain experience in other areas as she grew the firm.

 

She worked for Heart of Florida Legal Aid in Bartow, Florida where she served family law clients and individuals seeking assistance in obtaining domestic violence injunctions.  She left Heart of Florida Legal Aid and entered the world of education where she helped open the law academy at Lake Region High before moving on to teach students at Tenoroc High School, Daniel Jenkins Academy, and Shelley S. Boone Middle School.  In the midst of all of this, she continued to grow this office and actually earned a Master of Business Administration in Project Management from Florida Institute of Technology.  She is a member of the Middle District of Florida Federal Courts and a Florida Notary.  She hopes to add the Southern and Northern District Courts to her membership list soon.  In addition to her legal licenses, she holds a Professional Teaching Certificate in Business Education with a Reading Endorsement.  

 

If you ask her why she chooses to live and work here in Polk County, she’ll tell you that this is home.  She loves it here.  However, her primary motivation has always been that this county is filled with some of the brightest and most talented children and people, and they deserve to have someone here that not only believes in them but who has been in (some of) their shoes.  She was educated here.  Her family is here.  Her dreams were birth as a student here.  She does not want to be the one that left, made it, and sends things back home.  She wants to be the one that makes it here.  The one that mentors, provides, and sows into the communities here.

 

She strives to be both a positive introduction to the legal field AND one of the bridges between our children and their dreams.  Her students were taught that every job matters because our society needs each other to survive – from the cashiers and restaurant workers to the garbage men, truck drivers, hair stylist, plumbers, electricians, farmers, morticians, lawyers, doctors, teachers and everyone in between and all around.  We need each other and it will one day be up to them to step into the jobs that we will leave behind AND the ones that have yet to be created that we will need.

 

She believes in them and their abilities to accomplish and be whatever they desire so she lives here to make sure they know it. 

Ms. Babers’ life motto is present in the firm name and everything around her.  She is “Simply Blessed – every second of every minute, of every hour of every day, NO MATTER WHAT.” because although things are not always great, there is always a blessing hidden and on its way.  It is because of her and her beliefs that here at Simply Blessed Law Firm, PLLC, we do law different.
