Professional And Experienced Family Law Attorney

Lakeisha Latoya Babers, Esq.

Ms. Babers was born and raised in Polk County. After graduating from Haines City High School, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and her Juris Doctor (law degree) from Florida State University. After passing the Florida Bar exam on her very first attempt, she was sworn in as an attorney in April 2006 and began her career at the Office of the Public Defender for the Tenth Judicial Circuit, where she had also completed an internship the prior summer.

After leaving the Public Defender’s Office, she opened her own firm while also gaining valuable experience working in other roles. She served at Heart of Florida Legal Aid in Bartow, Florida, representing family law clients and individuals seeking protection through domestic violence injunctions. From there, she entered the world of education, helping open the law academy at Lake Region High School before going on to teach students at Tenoroc High School, Daniel Jenkins Academy, and Shelley S. Boone Middle School.

While continuing to grow her practice, she also earned a Master of Business Administration in Project Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. Today, she is a member of the Middle District of Florida Federal Courts, a Florida Notary, and hopes to soon add the Southern and Northern District Courts to her memberships. In addition to her legal licenses, she holds a Professional Teaching Certificate in Business Education with a Reading Endorsement.

Ms. Babers is also deeply committed to leadership and service in the legal community. She is a proud member of Class XI – Leadership Academy Fellows (23–24) (ME) and serves on the Board of Directors for FFLA – Funding Florida Legal Aid.

If you ask her why she chooses to live and work in Polk County, she’ll tell you simply: this is home. She loves it here. Her motivation comes from knowing this county is filled with bright, talented children and hardworking families who deserve someone who not only believes in them but has walked in their shoes.

Her goal is to be both a positive introduction to the legal field and a bridge between children and their dreams. She instills in her students—and her clients—that every job matters and every person’s contribution is essential to the survival and success of the community.

Her life motto is present in the firm’s name and in everything she does: Simply Blessed – every second of every minute, of every hour of every day, no matter what. Because although things may not always be perfect, there is always a blessing hidden and on its way.

It’s because of these beliefs that at Simply Blessed Law Firm, PLLC, we do law differently.

“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory.
Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.”
